About

Stone-Mtn-Mark

Mark Carbone grew up in Atlanta surrounded by many types of music: Rock, R&B, Soul, Hip Hop, Jazz, Country, and Americana, providing an education that would lead him to a full time career in music. He has performed on stage and/or recorded with artists all over the genre spectrum: Country artist Dale Watson with Andy York of John Mellencamp, Rock and Roll with Brent Hinds of Mastodon’s West End Motel, R&B and Soul with Ruby Velle and the Soulphonics, and contemporary Christian music at the Church of The Redeemer.

Being an in demand recording and performing drummer, the past several years has seen Mark covering the Continental United States coast to coast. In addition to playing venues like his hometown Atlanta’s Tabernacle, opening for Bush and Gary Clark Jr, nationally he has played venues from the Blue Note in Manhattan, to John Lee Hooker’s Boom Boom Room in San Francisco to playing festivals like Governors Ball in New York opening for Nas and Kanye West, to Mammoth Lakes Festival in California opening for John Hammond and Kenny Wayne Shepard.

His drumming has also been seen and/or heard on local and national television in shows like USA’s network series Suits, Sundance Channel’s Iconoclasts (episode feat. Norah Jones and Seth McFarlane), even the hugely popular podcast, Freakonomics.
